Still pregnant!!

We had our second appointment with the midwife today. I am 17 weeks now and was SO ready to hear the heartbeat again. This time it was much stronger and easier to find. Still the same rate...right around 160. Does that mean boy or girl??? Hearing the heartbeat was awesome...I am still not showing that much and haven't gained any weight. So, I was feeling a little insecure (I know I have no reason to...but I do). We get to find out the gender of the baby on May 21st!! We can't wait! I am starting to feel the "nesting" bug. This weekend we are purging our junk to make way for all the new junk you get with a baby. So, if you want to do a little "shopping" through my junk come on over!!! Oh, and the baby is the size of a turnip this week.

This week's big developments: Our baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee(what...this is a little wierd!!!), and possibly suck his/her thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his/her facial muscles are getting a workout as his/her tiny features form one expression after another. His/her kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll/she'll keep up until birth(again, a little wierd). He/she can grasp!

French Kissing Cats

Lula and Poopie are BFF!! When Lula got locked outside today Poopie was completely distraught and it was the sweetest reunion when she returned. Right now Vince is watching "the game", I am blog surfing and our cats are french kissing. Lula and Poopie snuggle and clean each other often and tonight they accidently licked each others tounges a few times. This just happened to be the funniest thing we have every seen because cats have sandpaper tounges and when they touch, they stick...they both hold still for a minute until one pulls away...then they start licking again! It's pretty funny!

Trinkets To Treasures

Whew! I just spent the whole day setting up for the largest rummage sale of the year! The annual Trinket To Treasures hosted by The Junior League of Plano. The sale is tomorrow from 8-2 at the Plano Centre. Stop by for some GREAT deals!!!

The worst might be over!

I woke up the morning of the day I turned 12 weeks and as if someone had flicked a switch....I felt 100% better. Crazy!!! I am starting to feel like a human again....now if I could just do something about this pregnancy brain!!

Also, my new favorite TV show is Castle! Love it!!!!

Things they don't tell you about the first trimester of pregnancy:

1) You will have gas...lots of gas!
2) Lifetime Movie Network is your new favorite channel.
3) The acceptance speeches at the Oscars will make your cry.
4) If you accomplish one thing a day, you are doing good!
5) Garlic smells like poop.
6) "Pregnancy glow" really means awkward teenage zits.
7) Everything makes your stomach hurt.
8) Pregnancy brain is REAL! (I decorated for Valentines day in March...not joking)
9) Your husband will become a housekeeping superhero while you sit on the couch.

The Sweetest Sound We've Ever Heard!

This morning Vince and I went to the Birth and Women's Center for our 10 week appointment. We heard the baby's strong heartbeat and are ready to go public with our big news!! I even added a little ticker on the side of our blog. WE ARE PREGNANT! The baby is due on October 7th and we are obviously very excited about this little bundle of joy in my belly!
