Evening Update . . .

Well after a long, exhausting day for the Scheffler mom&dad-to-be, they are headed home for a night of rest and then will be going back tomorrow morning to evaluate the situation. I am unaware of all the details but I will share what I do know. I know that Holly is tired and has been through a lot, and I know that they checked Sawyer all day on a heart monitor and on a sonogram, and her water hasn't broke, and he seems very well. Lets just keep praying for them until they know the next step . . . one step closer to Sawyer.

Noon Update

Just heard from Vince. They tried the Cytotec medicine again (same one as yesterday), and it did not do anything to help contractions start. They are going to use the foley bulb for the next few hours to see if it will help induce contractions. They are tired mentally and physically but they are also optimistic.

* Update (1:15pm) she is dilated to a 3 so foley bulb is helping, but can only help up to about a 4. They went to have another sonogram and the fluid levels seem the same . . . more waiting.

Morning

Holly texted me at 8:15am . . . no progress last night, so they were on the way to the birthing center. When I hear anything I'll let you know! J

Still waiting

Hi! Sorry I am about 2 hours behind. Holly and Vince went back to the center around 7pm. There has been little progress and Holly contractions, at that time had almost stopped altogether. They wanted Holly to get a good night sleep and if labor does not start on it's own tonight, they will be back at the center first thing in the morning to reevaluate. They are staying close to the hospital tonight so they don't have to drive back and forth.

I hope both Holly and Vince can get some good sleep. Keep praying for Holly and Vince not to get discouraged and have a peace about Sawyer's delayed arrival. If any news comes I will continue to share. Jamie

PS- If any of you are worried about the Scheffler Animal Farm - everyone is doing great! Foxy is boarding at our house for a while and the cats are having fun . . . none of them knowing what surprise they are about to have with a new baby in the house!

Updates on Holly & Vince . . . Sawyer Dean coming soon!

Hi this is Jamie, Holly's sister-friend. I feel it is time for updates . . . and with details, since Holly likes details.
This morning Holly and Vince went into their Birthing Center, the midwife tried a method to get her closer to labor called the foley bulb, it did not work. So instead she was given medication to start contractions - kind of slowly induce labor. They have checked into a local hotel to relax and wait near by (the birthing center is about 45 minutes from their home, a lot more with traffic) since Holly is not yet in labor.

The latest update was at 4pm (40 minutes ago). They went back to the center to check in with the midwife. Holly was dilated to 2 cms and having a lot of pre-term contractions, not enough to be in labor but enough where they wanted Holly and Vince to stay close by. So they will be resting at the hotel until 6pm or so. I will keep you posted (round the clock) with any news.

Below is the last pic I got of Holly with my daughter Lainey (and Sawyer) BEFORE . . . . now we are waiting on the AFTER.

Pray for Holly and Vince to have His peace that passes all understanding, for health of Holly and baby Sawyer. All for now! Love and excited!!!! J

40 weeks and 6 days...

Time for an update on Sawyer....

I am officially 40 weeks and 6 days preggo...so 6 days late!!! Yesterday we went to the birth center for a check-up and had finally made a little progress. All the homework we had (walking lots and other things....) must be working. We also had a sonogram and stress test just to make sure he is ok. Sawyer passed both and so he is clearly just cooking along fine and doesn't want to come out in the rain. They are going to give me a little more time to see if he will come out on his own and if he doesn't, we will need to talk about inducing...which I really don't want to do.

So, in the mean time my bags are packed and in the car, my house remains in a permanent state of spotlessness and I go to bed each night hoping I wake up in pain.

I will try to do a better job of updating my blog before he comes and when he does (finally) come my guest blogger will be my sister friend Jamie...so you can check in here for updates!

** Ok, just after I posted this, my midwife called with a "plan." I am going to go in again tomorrow in the morning and they will check me again. If they can, they will use something called a foley bulb to open my cervix. If they can't use the foley bulb I will have to take some medicine to start the process. Looks like either way I am having this baby by the end of this week, possibly sooner.**

He is almost here....we hope

Or I should say, she hopes. Holly is doing great and we cannot wait for our little guy to get here. You can come out now Sawyer, just in time to watch the Broncos beat up on the Cowboys.

Isn't she the prettiest pregnant lady you have ever seen. Just a few days shy of 40 weeks!

Back at 36 weeks.
